Associate Financial Planner
Position Description
Berkeley, Inc. is seeking an Associate Financial Planner. We are an independent fee-only financial advisor with (currently) five employees. We are located in beautiful Boise, Idaho. As a firm, we take our duty to do our best for clients and to enjoy ourselves at work very seriously. This person will be all things financial planning. This individual will work closely with the lead planners and our team of Advisors to support the financial planning process for ongoing clients and our standalone planning services. You will be a part of most client meetings, managing planning related follow-ups and keeping financial plans on track. This person will do planning input, follow-up, and write-ups from start to finish.
The best candidates will be very organized, trustworthy, personable, proactive, and fun. If you are seeking a strict 9-5 job where you clock in and clock out, this position is not for you. This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule.
Salary + Profit Sharing Bonus: $60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience and designations
Responsibilities:
• Develop financial planning recommendations through meetings, data gathering, and planning software
• Provide continual support to clients by preparing information for client financial review meetings and participating in all client meetings
• Enhance client relationships through continual and regular client contact and correspondence; provide follow up to all client inquiries, needs and requests
• Manage and coordinate with team members on workflows
• Help to add value to the firm through implementation of new methods and ideas
• Engage in ongoing education to stay current in financial planning related knowledge and skills; our firm has a strong emphasis on continuous learning
What it takes:
• At least three years of work experience related to financial planning preferred but not required
• Bachelor’s degree in business, financial planning, finance, accounting, economics, or related field
• Series 65 license required within 90 days of employment
• Desire to complete the Certified Financial Planner® designation in the coming years, preferred completion of coursework already
• Collaborative, positive attitude and ability to work with others
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Ability to multi-task and manage several deadlines
• Open and receptive to feedback and coaching
