ShankerValleau Wealth Advisors, a fee-only wealth management firm in Skokie, IL is seeking a Wealth Advisor Associate.


We are interested in you if you have a true passion for financial planning, want to make a direct impact on our clients’ lives, and want to work your way up our advisory career ladder. We offer an opportunity for someone to learn the business from the ground up but does not want to market and cold call for clients.


This entry level position would involve providing both back office support to our Portfolio Administrator as well as financial planning support to our Wealth Advisors. The goal would be for this individual to ultimately grow into a full time Wealth Advisor.


Our firm specializes in wealth management using a customized approach for high net worth individuals, including doctors, lawyers, consultants and entertainers. We are seeking a dedicated team player who is eager to contribute to our company. Our Wealth Advisor Associate position requires a bright, hard-working, critical thinking, self-motivated, passionate, personable, and professional individual.


Initial Responsibilities and Activities:

• Assist with establishing new accounts, handling transfers, deposits and withdrawals,

• Maintain CRM software,

• Assist with client reporting,

• Prepare investment allocations and trades,

• Work with Wealth Advisors to prepare pre-meeting reports such as net worth and cash flow statements as well as post meeting tasks such as preparing meeting notes and report revisions, and

• Prepare tax projections and assist with tax return preparation.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited four-year university,

• Current CFP or working towards designation,

• Experience in financial planning and wealth management is preferred, but not required,

• Prior tax experience is desirable,

• Superior knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint,

• Desire to learn (and continue learning),

• Someone who absolutely lives for the details, and

• Shows confidence, yet in a humble manner, when dealing with clients and our Senior Wealth Advisors.
