As a Managing Director, Laura has long been an advocate for the individual investor. Prior to joining The Mather Group, Laura founded Barnett Financial to address the shortcomings she saw in the typical sales-oriented broker-client relationship.
Laura’s expertise as a financial planner is widely recognized in the industry, having been quoted in The Financial Times, The Washington Post, US News, and Austin Woman Magazine, among other publications. Laura has served on the National Board of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), as President and Chair of the Southern Region of NAPFA, and on the Board of the Brazos Valley Estate Planning Council. Laura is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor, a Certified Financial Planner™, an Investment Advisor Representative and a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Additional Information
Prior to founding Barnett Financial, Laura was a Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch. There she earned the designation of Certified Financial Manager through the Donald T. Regan School of Advanced Financial Management. Laura also holds a BS in Economics from Texas A&M University.
