Chris Cortese, Founder of Logbook Financial Planning, LLC, is a Financial Planner serving individuals and families around the world. With a background of public service in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. State Department, Chris is passionate about continuing to serve those in government and the military.
Chris founded Logbook Financial Planning to provide independent, fiduciary, fee-only financial advice without asset minimums to those who serve our nation (Foreign Service, military, and other federal employees). As a Registered Life Planner, Chris knows that advice around money falls short without a true understanding of each person’s individual needs, dreams and goals. Chris uses his experience and insight to steer others toward their own unique best life through career change, early retirement, passion projects, philanthropy, family legacy or other ways to find deeper purpose in their lives.
Chris is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and is an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).

Prior to his career in financial planning, Chris was a Foreign Service Officer and diplomat in China, Taiwan, Colombia, and Uruguay for 13 years. As an Air Force Officer and military pilot, he flew more than 5,000 hours in a variety of aircraft such as the T-38, MH-53J, and C-5.
Chris' wife, Sherise, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). They have three children in high school and another proudly serving in the Air Force They live on the beautiful mid-coast of Maine and enjoy kayaking, hiking, skiing and snowshoeing.
