Planning Specialties
Hi, I'm Karl, Principal and Senior Financial Advisor at Team Hewins. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with over 17 years of experience, I help my clients gain clarity of their financial situation and identify what they need to do to have a successful financial future through comprehensive financial planning. A comprehensive financial plan reflects your entire financial life, including your assets, liabilities, income, expenses, and how they impact your long-term goals. I specialize in financial planning for divorced women, financial planning for widows, tax planning strategies for high income earners, equity compensation plans, investment planning, and estate planning.
I aim to empower clients with the resources and clarity to make well-informed financial decisions. Operating at the highest level of fiduciary responsibility and transparency, I provide personalized support and advice, from prioritizing and identifying primary deficiencies to protecting assets and providing for families, businesses, and the community. In addition to cash flow and budgeting, investment policy statements, estate, retirement, and tax planning, we connect the dots by working directly with your CPA, attorney, and other professionals.
Because we are looking to form long-term relationships with clients, we do not typically engage on a one-time project basis. We charge an asset-based fee that covers all of our financial planning and investment management work. Our fee schedule is tiered, based on a percentage of the market value of the assets under management.

Additional Information
I discovered a passion for financial planning at an early age. As far back as high school, I was working the numbers to see what would be needed to build a retirement nest egg. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, with a B.S. in Accounting, and since then, I've thrived on easing financial stress for my clients. We will take one step at a time, prioritize your issues, and take care of them at a manageable pace.
I've also been honored to be quoted in and written articles for various major publications, including Morningstar, Barron's, CNBC, MarketWatch, and Yahoo! Finance.
