Gregory “Greg” S. Van Wyk is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ / Life and Health Insurance Counselor and Executive Vice President at Austin Asset Management Company (AAMC). Greg leads client relationships and is responsible for the management and direction of the financial planning department.
Mr. Van Wyk has over11 years of financial planning and investment management experience. He has served in several management-level roles at the company over the last seven years and has been a owner/principal of the firm for the last four years.
He joined Austin Asset Management Company's Resident Intern program in 2001 and became a Financial Planner with the firm in 2003 upon passing the CFP® board examination. Mr. Van Wyk also served as the company’s Planning Support Manager for two years, as Manager of Financial Planning for two years, and as Director of Financial Planning for two years. In January 2010, he was promoted once again, to the role of Executive Vice President.
Mr. Van Wyk’s areas of specialization and focused work include estate planning, retirement planning, tax planning and education planning for children. He strives to bring clarity to clients in these complex subject areas.
In January 2005, he accepted a position as an adjunct instructor for the Financial Planning Certificate Program at the University of Texas at Austin, where he teaches Strategies and Case Studies and was honored with its Excellence in Teaching Award in 2008.
Mr. Van Wyk graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a Business Foundations Program certificate. He became a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) in 2002 and became a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor in 2004.
