Planning Specialties
Steve's area of specialization has less to do with age, gender, net worth or line of work - and more to do with a single character trait. Since the firm emphasizes success through preparation, his specialty is working with people who hate the feeling of being unprepared. Having a realistic, coordinated financial "game plan" for the future, developing a sensible investment program, and making informed financial decisions all provide ample opportunities to prepare.
Steve graduated from Rutgers in 1982 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. The analytical and problem solving skills he developed during his course of study were extremely useful with his transition into the financial services industry in 2001. As a financial advisor with Waddell & Reed he used a holistic, problem solving approach to assist his clients with their personal finances. To help broaden his knowledge, Steve continued his studies with the American College's Financial Planning Program and obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2005, along with the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) certifications. In the spring of 2006, he started S & A Financial Strategies and Services to concentrate solely on providing quality, objective advice. During his corporate years, Steve worked for companies such as IBM, Symbol Technologies and Peabody Engineering.
Additional Information

He enjoys writing on a variety of financial topics and about his experiences in Italy. Throughout his professional career he has enjoyed volunteer work with Junior Achievement, the Twilight Wish Foundation and Meals on Wheels.
