Planning Specialties
We offer holistic financial planning and investment management service for a flat fee with no asset minimums. Like a good family doctor, we pride ourselves on being generalists when it comes to knowing a lot about a wide range of planning opportunities, but we become the specialist on you and your situation. We have expertise in tax planning, investment management, retirement planning (traditional or non-traditional), insurance needs, and estate planning. We serve primarily professionals and business owners, from young families through the retirement years.Additional Information
I became interested in personal finance from a rather young age: let’s just say I didn’t know any other teenagers who made regular contributions to a Roth IRA from their summer job earnings! After graduating from the University of Virginia, I became a math teacher in Baltimore with Teach for America and discovered a passion for education. Following our teaching commitment, my wife and I were lucky enough to move back to Charlottesville, VA for her medical training and where I accepted a position at a small hedge fund. Over more than a decade, I grew as a professional and an investor, learning the theory and practice of disciplined investing and risk management, while forging connections across the financial industry. However, I missed the deep connection to our client’s everyday lives that I loved so much about teaching.
Over the years, my wife and I have benefited greatly from having access to a financial planner to help juggle student debt, buying a home, growing our family, and owning businesses. I’ve personally witnessed the value and the pitfalls of financial planning up close as family members have navigated career changes, financial setbacks, unexpected health crises, disability, retirement, and the loss of a parent or spouse. The right financial planner serves as a guide to reaching your goals and a trusted resource amidst uncertainty.
Since becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and founding Oakleigh Wealth Services, I am so grateful to have found a calling and a vocation that engages both the head and the heart. Whether you are encountering a specific obstacle, pursuing a dream, providing for your family, giving back to the community, or enjoying the fruits of your labor, I look forward to serving you.
