Mauricio is originally from Mexico City and moved to the United States when he was 21 years old.
He spent a few years in Scottsdale, AZ, but decided to trade the 120-degree weather for a more
temperate city when he moved to Nashville, where he met his wife Kate the very first day of
business school. They live with their dog Capo, a 130-pound Neapolitan Mastiff who thinks she’s
a lap dog. In his free time, Mauricio enjoys watching and playing soccer, discovering new places,
going on long walks, reading, mentoring students, and organizing events with the Vanderbilt
Alumni Nashville chapter.
