NAPFA Spring 2023 National Conference Speaker

As a Managing Director, Wealth Management, Karla McAvoy has been a long-time advocate for individual investors. She joined The Mather Group through the acquisition of HC Financial Advisors in August 2022, where she was the Chief Compliance Officer, Senior Financial Advisor, and Principal. Karla was responsible for helping to ensure that the firm remained compliant with state and federal laws and regulations and managing the day-to-day details of her clients’ finances. Before joining the HC Financial team, she was a Regional Director of Education at PeopleSoft and a Software Consultant at Must Software. In addition, Karla has served as a Board Member and Chair of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the NAPFA West Region Board, and the FPA NorCal Conference Committee, which she also chaired in 2014. Karla earned her MBA in Technology Management at Santa Clara University and her BA in Economics at the University of California, Davis. She also is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, and she earned a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) certificate from NAPFA.
