Michael Finke, Ph.D., CFP® is a professor of wealth management and Frank M. Engle Distinguished Chair in Economic Security at The American College of Financial Services. He received a doctorate in consumer economics from the Ohio State University in 1998 and in finance from the University of Missouri in 2011. Finke studies optimal spending in retirement, life satisfaction and cognitive aging, behavioral response to investment risk, and retirement policy. He is a frequent speaker in the financial planning profession and was named one of the 25 most influential people in the field of investment advising in 2013, 2014, and 2020 by Investment Advisor Magazine.
