2022 Spring Conference Speaker
Janet Briaud
Janet Briaud, CFP® founded Briaud Financial Advisors in 1986 because she saw a need for a company that would treat clients the way she wanted to be treated. At the time, many thought that a financial firm that didn’t take commissions for selling products would be doomed to fail. Today, the fee-only model is the fastest growing segment of the financial advisory profession.
Briaud has held leadership positions at all levels of the profession, including the chair of the NAPFA board of directors. Her financial planning and investment advice has been featured in virtually every publication in the financial and trade press, along with some surprising ones, like Men’s Health magazine.
Briaud grew up in Canada and is a fluent French speaker. Before moving to the United States in the late 1970s, she received her bachelors and masters degrees in physical education from the University of New Brunswick and the University of Ottawa, respectively.
An intellectually curious person, Briaud loves to read and spends much of her down time doing just that. As a former P.E. teacher, she also enjoys leading a fit lifestyle. Above all else, Briaud enjoys family life and values her time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
