Delia Fernandez
Delia is founder and president of Fernandez Financial Advisory, LLC, an independent, fee-only financial planning and registered investment advisory firm in Los Alamitos, California, which she opened in 1994.
Delia offers financial planning and asset management services to a mostly middle class clientele. She provides advice and guidance both hourly and under AUM arrangements. Her special expertise is with government workers and their various defined benefit and defined contribution plans, and how they interact with Social Security and may be affected by the Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Pension Offset provisions.
Delia is a frequent speaker to employee groups and is often featured in the Money Makeover column in the Los Angeles Times. She’s also appeared as a guest on radio shows such as Air Talk and Take Two on KPCC radio, the local NPR station.
Delia is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, has an MBA from California State University, Long Beach, and a B.A. from Scripps College in Claremont. She obtained her financial planning certificate from UC Irvine Extension, a program she has also been teaching in since 1995. She’s also a member of the program’s Advisory Committee.
