Mark Willoughby
Mark Willoughby is Chief Operations Officer, Principal and Wealth Manager of Modera Wealth Management, LLC. As a Wealth Manager, he advises high net worth individuals, families and fiduciary clients in all areas of wealth management. In addition, Mark serves as Modera’s Chief Operations Officer.
Mark has over 16 years of experience in the wealth management business, holding senior positions at Deloitte & Touche, Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan Chase. Mark received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Galway in Ireland and completed a post-graduate degree in Accounting at the University of Dublin. In 2001, he joined Modera Wealth Management as a Financial Analyst and became a Principal in 2007.
As a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor with the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, co-chair of its Regional Conference in 2009, and chair of its National Conference in 2013, Mark believes in the importance of participating in professional associations and developing thought leadership. He also is a member of the CFA® Institute, the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals, the Estate Planning Council of North Georgia and the Association of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
A frequent speaker on financial planning and investment management topics, Mark has presented at the New School for Social Research in New York City and at regional financial advisor conferences, including NAPFA seminars in Atlanta, GA, Columbia, SC, and Orlando, FL. With fellow principal Tom Orecchio, he was invited by Fi360 to present a webinar on the use of alternative investments to over 300 professionals in the industry. Mark serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Modera Charitable Foundation, a charity founded by the firm in 2004 to serve the needs of the community, and as a Director of the Modera Wealth Management Scholarship Fund. Mark is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes research. Mark enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading fiction, road cycling and playing soccer.
