Sheryl Garrett
Sheryl Garrett, CFP® started her career in financial services in 1986. For 18 years she worked as a personal financial planner. Since 2000 she’s been heading up the Garrett Planning Network, a nationwide network of around 300 hourly-based financial advisors, whose mission is to help make competent, objective financial advice accessible to all people. She is also CEO, CCO of Garrett Investment Advisors, LLC an SEC registered Fee-Only investment advisory firm.
Sheryl is frequently quoted and a recipient of numerous awards and recognition for her contributions in the field of financial planning and advice. Sheryl has been named six times as one of the most influential people in the financial services industry by Investment Advisor Magazine, and she’s been recognized by her peers in NAPFA (National Association of Personal Financial Advisors) with the Robert J. Underwood Distinguished Service Award and the 30 for 30. She’s written, co-authored or served as series editor on over a dozen books, and has been very involved in financial education and awareness and investor protection. From 2011-2014 she worked with the CFP Board’s Public Policy Council and recently served as a member of the CNBC Advisory Council. Currently she is active on the WSJ Experts panel and on the Steering Group for Committee for The Fiduciary Standard. Since 2005 Sheryl has also provided ligation consulting services involving cases of alleged misconduct by financial advisors.
In her spare time she loves being a mom and living at the Wild Plum just south of Eureka Springs, AR in the beautiful Ozark Mountains.
