Katie Seay
Katie Seay, CFP®, Certified Retirement Counselor® is an officer and shareholder of The Trust Company, based in Manhattan, Kansas. As Director of Financial Planning, she leads the financial planning practice for all four of the firm’s offices, located in Kansas, Missouri and Texas.
Katie and her husband, Martin Seay, a faculty member at Kansas State University, recently co-authored a chapter on Medicaid in the second edition of the CFP Board’s Financial Planning Competency Handbook. At the 2014 FPA BE Conference, she sat on the Joint FPA/Academy of Financial Services Panel, discussing the topic, “Aligning Academic Research with Practitioner Needs.”
Katie holds a degree in family financial planning from the University of Georgia. Prior to joining The Trust Company, she served mainly Fortune 500 company executives at a large financial planning firm in Georgia. She is very passionate about sharing her expertise to benefit the community, and serves on the boards of Manhattan Konza Rotary Club, Homecare and Hospice and the Manhattan Advisory Council for Housing and Credit Counseling, Inc. Katie is a graduate of the Leadership Manhattan program and a member of the Financial Planning Association.
