Keynote: Uncharted Territory: Navigating the Changing Landscape of Family Life
All the “rules” that used to govern our progress through different stages of life have been transformed in the past 50 years. There have been huge changes in the way people grow up, find and sustain meaningful intimate relationships, raise children, develop a workable fit between work and family life, and age successfully, whether alone or with a partner. Older social compacts between employees, employers, and the state have been radically transformed. Understanding the social dynamics of these changes, their consequences for daily living, and the emotional reactions they evoke is essential for personal and societal as well as financial planning.
